About Scotia Drainage

We are two drainage technicians and internet enthusiasts who have a combined total of around 15 years of experience working in the drainage system repair and maintenance industry. We noticed that there isn’t a tremendous amount of information about drainage systems on the internet (which really isn’t hard to believe!), which puts people in a disadvantaged position when it comes to dealing with drainage tradespeople.

More About Us

Our goal is to provide some insight into what we do and how we do it on a day to day basis. We want to give you a basic standard to expect so that you can hire people accordingly and have a rough idea of what you are getting into.

If you are facing a drainage issue and want to call someone out, you need to protect yourself. In order to avoid water damage, you might panic and want to hire the first person you come across, but this can end up doing more harm than good.

You don’t want to have someone turn up and start digging up your garden when a professional team could turn up and have everything sorted without the need for excavation.

Some of the fundamental processes that any drainage technician worth their salt would carry out are things like:

  • High-Pressure Water Jetting
  • CCTV Surveys
  • Targeted Excavation

How We Do It

As mentioned, we work for a drainage company which (if we don’t say so ourselves!) is an industry leader and sets a standard for professionalism within the UK. We use top of the range equipment and are always on the lookout for any advances that we can make use of.

We are also dedicated to using the most efficient and effective methods that get the jobs done. In our line of work, high-pressure water jetting tends not only to be the best method of addressing most of the problems we come across, and the most cost-effective.

This puts us in a unique position regarding offering guidance on what you should be looking for when you are hiring or dealing with a drainage system company. We know what standard we hold ourselves to, and we have shown for a fact that it is possible, and we want to make sure you have exactly the same standards about such an obscure but fundamental profession!

Anyone who doesn’t follow the general services that we outline is simply lazy, misguided, or unqualified.

Why We Are Doing This?

We know what you are thinking: this is an odd thing to do, why would you possibly write about this?

Well, we have a few other blogs about everything from sport to music, so we have some experience in writing. We are also tired of turning up to properties and finding that some cowboys have been in before us and we are not only addressing the original problem but clearing up the mess that the people who were meant to fix it left!

It’s as simple as that. We hold out profession to a certain standard, and we want you to have the information to do the same.
